Taking 'The Vow' of celebrity

Jonathan Glickman, Gary Barber, Clint Culpepper and Roger Birnbaum take "The Vow" in Hollywood. Screen Gems threw a wedding-themed buffet at the Roosevelt. Director Michael Sucsy with pic's Jessica McNamee Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams welcome their off-screen doppelgangers Krickitt and Kim Carpenter to Grauman's Chinese. It's one thing to play a role based on a real person. It's another thing to watch the movie with that person sitting alongside you in the room.Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams attended Screen Gems' "The Vow" premiere at the Chinese on Monday night, along with the real-life couple, Kim and Krickitt Carpenter, who inspired the amnesia love story. "I was scared to meet the guy," Tatum said of meeting Kim on the set. "I haven't been able to talk to him about what he really thought of the film, so I'm kind of scared to do that."Preem festivities moved across the street to the Roosevelt for the after-party, where guests included Tatum's "Magic Mike" co-star Adam Rod-riguez. That upcoming pic is loosely based on Tatum's personal experience as a stripper. Rodriguez remarked, "You cannot take yourself too seriously when you're standing in a dance line with six other grown men in their G-strings." Contact the Variety newsroom at news@variety.com
